Totale Renovates (Rethinks Business Model)?

It was only a matter of time before Totale (30 St. Mark’s Place) had to rethink their business model. While their $5.00 Neapolitan pies were perhaps the best deal in town, there was no way that they could afford to pay rent with prices like that. I’ve been stopping in on occasion (because the deal is so fantastic) and it’s always at near zero capacity. Mind you it is located on one of NYC busiest blocks.

So I was not surprised when I passed by today and noticed them renovating. It appears that the space is being converted into a take-out type of establishment. They’re getting rid of the seats and putting in a counter.

Whether or not the prices stay the same remains to be seen…

About I Dream Of Pizza

Some guys dream about winning the Powerball jackpot, making love to Kate Upton, or scoring the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl. But personally, I spend most of my time dreaming about digging my face into a mouth watering slice of pizza. Fireworks are ignited. Music comes out of nowhere. And just like that, I’ve fallen in love once again. Since 2008, I've chronicled my pizza eating adventures in New York City and around the world on I Dream Of Pizza -- the web's most popular blog dedicated entirely to pizza.
