Paulie Gee’s: Opening Tonight!

Well the day has finally arrived. Paulie Gee’s (60 Greenpoint Avenue) is opening in Greenpoint tonight. I don’t have much today say about Paulie’s except — go there! Like tonight. As reported on Slice last week, here are the hours:

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 6PM – 11PM
Friday and Saturday: 6PM – 1AM
Sunday: 3PM – 11PM

Of course, these hours are all contingent on there being enough dough. Although judging by the number of pies Paulie popped out at a friends and family event last weekend, he seems to be well stocked. Without my camera in hand and reviewer goggles on, I had the chance to take in the incredible atmosphere that Paulie has created in his new space. I got to see the restaurant under construction about six weeks ago and the final product even exceeded my high expectations. Everything — from the wood tables to the bar stools — was built from scratch and put together by hand, giving the place a comforting, yet rustic feel.

My favorite pie was the Regina (fior di latte, Italian tomatoes, Pecorino Romano, and fresh basil).
